One big issue that has most of the animal health community talking at the moment is the ongoing debate over what the FDA should be doing in regards to the use of antibiotics in production animals.

The problem comes from public concern over antibiotic-resistant organisms evolving. Low doses of antibiotics help to aid bacteria in becoming accustomed to the levels and becoming immune instead of being eradicated by the treatment. Many are concerned that if humans are infected by these bacteria, traditional antibiotic use would not be able to help them.
