Keith Martin has 20 years of experience in project finance and risk mitigation, with a focus on infrastructure projects in emerging markets. He began his career at OPIC, and spent 9 years at the World Bank Group - 7 years at MIGA and 2 years as a senior consultant to the IFC on Brazil-Africa investments. He also has extensive private sector experience, having been the General Manager for External Affairs and Political Risk Analysis at Brazil's mining giant Vale, as well as Director of International Trade and Investments at the Brazil subsidiary of Aon.
From 2014 until September 2016, Keith was a senior consultant to the African Development Bank under the Initiative for Risk Mitigation in Africa, where he supported AfDB private sector projects; the development of innovative risk mitigation instruments; and better understanding of risk mitigation among the AfDB's regional member country governments and private sectors. He is now working with a consortium developing a large hydropower project in West Africa. He has directly supported projects valued at over $12 billion.
Keith holds degrees from Georgetown (BSFS) and McGill (MA and PhD, ABD) Universities and speaks 9 languages, including French, Portuguese and Spanish.
