Gayle Macklin, Senior Vice Principal, Al Yasat Private School

Gayle Macklin comes from the United States and is the Senior Vice Principal of Instructional Leadership, K-12. She came to the UAE in 2011, working with ADEC for five years as a Head of Faculty. Prior to the UAE, she worked with Vail School District in Vail, Arizona for 5 years at Corona Foothills Middle School as a Certified Reading and Writing Specialist with students  SPED, GenED and G&T. 

Prior to Arizona, she worked in St. Charles, Illinois. In her tenure, she taught History, Journalism, Drama and English in grades 6-8. In both Arizona and Illinois she wrote curriculum for multiple subjects, District Benchmark Assessments, and an endorsed trainer of SEI (Structured English Immersion) . Gayle enjoyed her three years as the  Director of a Non-Profit Organization providing grants to teachers and schools for student-learning experiences beyond the classroom. Gayle  holds three  Masters, one in Educational Leadership, the second in Special Education, the third in Curriculum and Instruction and is currently working on her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction.
