Rowan Chalmers, Executive General Manager, Operations & Customer Experience, Perth Airport

Rowan has over 25 years’ experience in a variety of operational airline and airport roles and began his career with British Airways before joining American Airlines in 1989. After 18 years with American leading airport operations in Stockholm, London, Paris, New York and Toronto, he joined Virgin Atlantic to lead their Heathrow hub operation in 2008. Joining Qantas and relocating to Australia in 2010 Rowan oversaw the implementation of Qantas’s Next Generation check-in product in its launch city of Perth and was instrumental in providing input into both the design and operation of this new, cutting edge technology. He relocated to Sydney in 2011 to lead the Qantas hub operation and in early 2014 returned to Perth after accepting a new challenge with Perth Airport as Executive General Manager – Operations & Customer Experience.
