Marcelo Dourado, CEO, Metro DF - Companhia do  Metropolitano do Distrito Federal

Marcelo Dourado is Director-President at METRO-DF. He holds a degree in History from the University of Brasilia (UnB), a post-graduate degree in Public Administration (public policies) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and an English Language degree from the Universities of Michigan (USA) and Cambridge (UK).

In 2016 he specialized in Knowledge Management, through the Training Program for Rail System Operators at JICA - Japan International Cooperation Agency, in Osaka, Japan.
Marcelo Dourado was previously Secretary of Tourism of the Distrito Federal, Brazil and Director-Superintendent of the Central-West Development Superintendence (Sudeco), a position he held for almost three years. He engaged in the Federal Government's project to eradicate extreme poverty, as well as infrastructure, logistics, productive inclusion and sustainable development projects for the Midwest of Brazil.
In April 2017, METRÔ-DF received the Golden Chariot International Transport Award, in the category National Transport Company of the Year, during the event "Sustainable Development Goals - Transport and Peace" at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. According to Marcelo Dourado, the award is a recognition of the initiative to put the fully sustainable underground station into operation.

Global Project Roundtables

At each round table, the project leader will talk for 5 minutes, following the format as below
  • Project introduction, highlighting particular challenges specific to that project
  • Project progress, emphasising supplier and partner relations
  • Project summary – what would we do differently if we tackled this project again?
The table will then move on to discussion for 25 minutes.
There will then be one rotation, giving participants the opportunity to have joined two round tables in total
