Marcus Frantz assumed management of the Strategic Group IT Management division of ÖBB-Holding AG on 1st April 2017. He holds a degree in Business Administration and studied at the universities of Konstanz and Trier in Germany. Mr Frantz embarked on his professional career as a project manager at international consulting firms, focusing on organisational and HR development as well IT strategy in the areas of financial services and energy supply. After moving to OMV in 2004, his areas of responsibility focused on operational IT management as well as on the harmonisation of the entire application landscape, the implementation of a global IT service centre and the development and implementation of an operational IT strategy. From 2013, as CIO of the OMV Group - including Petrom and Petrol Ofisi - he controlled all strategic agendas of Group IT with a specific focus on new technologies and the digitisation of the company. In his position as CIO of ÖBB, Mr Frantz is responsible for the development and coordination of the Digital Business Strategy of ÖBB as well as the strategic orientation of IT/OT within the Group.
