Akihiko Nakamura joined Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) in April 1990 after graduating from Kyoto University. The core of JR Central’s operations is the Tokaido Shinkansen, the main transportation artery linking Japan’s principal metropolitan areas of Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. JR Central also operates a network of 12 conventional lines centered in the Nagoya and Shizuoka areas.
Akihiko gained extensive experience in the Corporate Planning Division, Shinkansen Operations Division, Rolling Stock Depot, Train Crew Depot and Station in his twenties and early thirties.
After holding important posts in JR Central, such as Manager of Public Relations Department and Manager of Personnel Section in the Conventional Operations Division, Akihiko moved to London as General Manager of the London Office in July 2008. Akihiko is also Managing Director of JRK (UK) Ltd which operates Japanese Restaurants in London.
