Amaya has a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the Manchester Metropolitan University, and has been working in AIMPLAS (Plastic Technology Centre) since 2005. She has spent more than 10 years working in the field of nanomaterials, polymeric nanocomposites, functionalization and processing of polymeric material. Amaya participated in several EU projects in the area of nanocomposites, and is now currently working as Senior Researcher and Project Manager and also leading the Nanocomposite Group of the Institute.
