John Cai, MD, PhD, is a Director of Medical Informatics in Celgene. He directs a capability group to enable late-stage development and commercial applications of Medical Informatics, and leads a Real-World Evidence Strategy utilizing real-world big data (e.g., Electronic Health Record, claims, or registry data) and analytics to answer important research and business questions for Celgene. Before joining Celgene, John was a Director, Biomedical Informatics at AstraZeneca where he supported Clinical Development. John received his medical training from China Medical University and his Medical Informatics training from the Children’s Hospital Informatics Program in Harvard Medical School.
Pursuing a passion for both medicine and computing, John has co-authored peer-reviewed publications in the areas of medical informatics, data mining, clinical trials, and cancer genomics. He also serves in the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Industry Advisory Council.
