In-Kyu Yoon | Acting Executive Director of Research & Development

In-Kyu Yoon is the Acting Executive Director of Vaccine Research and Development at CEPI, and has worked at CEPI since 2020. He leads the R&D division which encompasses product development programs and enabling science activities. In-Kyu is a physician who has overseen multiple vaccine development programs and led international public health initiatives in support of vaccine introduction efforts, notably as Director of the Dengue Vaccine Initiative. He has conducted research on the epidemiology, pathophysiology and immunology of infectious diseases authoring over 140 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and is a global expert on arboviruses. In-Kyu has held leadership positions within the US Army Vaccine Development Program and at the International Vaccine Institute. In-Kyu obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University (USA) and medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine (USA) in 1993. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (USA).
