Tom is Head of Environment for Genus plc. Tom has extensive experience of working with international plc companies and investment funds on advising where and how to invest in sustainable agriculture. Since joining Genus in 2011 he has worked on a wide range of international assignments across Asia, South America and Europe covering the whole of the agriculture and food supply chain. Tom has particular emphasis on horticulture, arable, dairy, poultry, beef, and pork sectors. Tom is an MA, BSC (Hons) and IEMA qualified Environmental Sustainability specialist covering water, waste, land, energy, greenhouse gases, sustainability and natural resources. .

Recent experience includes working with a major international plc to determine the impact of GHG emissions from worldwide operations directly connected to agricultural production and using this information to identify the opportunity to invest in CSR and the benefits of sustainable growth and expansion. Similarly, Tom has been working with a Spanish based private equity firm appraising water scarcity and availability with a view to informing how and where future investments are made in the horticultural sector.  Other examples include mapping supply chains, farm and food processing water usage, waste in the supply chain, the use of renewable energy, resource efficiency and climate change mitigation/adaptation.
