Southeast Asia’s dynamic and diverse region is emerging as a driving force in the global economy. As such, the standards of education in the region of vast diversity are rapidly changing. Differing socio-economic trends within the region require strategic solutions for educational reforms.
According to ERIC, it is found that the ‘development of higher education in Southeast Asia is tied very closely to political and economic development in individual countries. In the more developed economies, the focuses of higher education are diversification, commercialisation and internationalisation. As a result, there is a general consensus that within the Southeast Asian higher education community, cooperation is beneficial.’
We hope to bridge the divide by presenting to you 14 higher education tech leaders that have made significant efforts and contributions to the education landscape in Southeast Asia. These “must-know” icons are the key players in transforming and lifting the region’s higher education system to greater heights.
