With 90% electrification in 2017, a 100-million strong population and a fast-growing economy, the Philippines’ energy industry is truly a land of opportunity.
7,000MW of generation capacity will be added in the next 5 years, and power generation capacity will be doubled by 2030. Add these facts to a drive to bring reliable electricity access to the 16-million people that live without it, through rural and off-grid electrification, and a 15.3GW renewable energy generation target, and it’s not hard to see that the Philippines is serious about its energy future.
With installed wind capacity now sitting at almost 500GW globally, 54GW of which were installed in 2016 alone, wind can now generate around 5% of the world’s electricity demand. The Philippines recognises this opportunity and is supporting in-country wind energy growth, as the largest wind power generator in ASEAN.
Building on the incredible success of Power & Electricity World Philippines and The Solar Show Philippines, which brought together over 5,000 people in Manila in 2017, we’re delighted to introduce Wind Show Philippines , co-located with these events in 2018.
Whether you’re looking to bring your turbine technology to the Philippines, understand the lay of the land in-country around wind energy projects, meet potential partners or showcase your solutions to thousands of attendees, you should join us at the Philippines’ largest energy show for our biggest ever edition.
