Mr. Itumeleng Mmutloane is a Professionally Registered Mechanical Engineer who holds a Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) with the Department of Labour. He completed his BSc (Hons) Mechanical engineering degree at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and later went on to complete an MEng degree with the University of Johannesburg. He has an overall 10 years’ post-graduate engineering experience and has demonstrated success in applying engineering principles and knowledge in the management of the engineering assets. He has worked in the private sector, parastatal, local government and currently in provincial government. His career started in a steel manufacturing company where he trained as a junior engineer in the Engineering services division. He then joined Eskom as a system engineer and progressed to a Senior Engineer level in the utilities division. He later joined City of Ekurhuleni as a Chief Mechanical Engineer in the Water and Sanitation department where he was responsible for the Specialized Services Section (Fresh water and Sewer pump stations, Telemetry, Cathodic protection, Control valves). He is currently working for the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development as a Chief Mechanical Engineer responsible for the mechanical scope (Fire protection, Wet services, HVAC, Refrigeration and Gas supply) in the construction projects. Mr. Mmutloane has a wealth of experience in the engineering plant life cycle management and has been actively involved in the design, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the mechanical utility systems.
