Annie Estelle Ambani, Environmental Scientist, Data Analyst, And Research Consultant, University of Johannesburg

Annie Estelle Ambani is an environmental manager by training. She studied environmental management and geography at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa and received a Master’s in Environmental Management from the same University with a focus on mining activities impacting on the international recognised Ramsar wetland, the Blesbokspruit in Gauteng, South Africa. In her three-year position as Environmental Coordinator with BHP Billition Samancor (Gabon and South Africa),  Ms Ambani participated in the development of a water quality monitoring plan and waste management strategy. Her interest in water quality issues has been well-received in the academic arena, and she is now involved in water-related activities and conservation in the Blesbokspruit Catchment, a tributary of the Greater Vaal River on which all socioeconomic activities in Gauteng depend.
