Chiara Palmieri, Associate Professor Veterinary Pathology, The University of Queensland

A/Prof Chiara Palmieri is a board certified specialist pathologist (Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists) with a specific field of expertise in small animal oncology. Her research interests focus on comparative pathology, animal models of human cancers - specifically prostate cancer and osteosarcoma – and cancer epidemiology. She is Chair of the canine prostate cancer subgroup at the Oncology Pathology Working Group (OPWG) and Australian representative on the Global Initiative for Veterinary Cancer Surveillance (GIVCS). She is Director of Research of the UQ School of Veterinary Science, past President of the Australian Society of Veterinary Pathology and member of several organisations, including the European Society of Veterinary Pathology, the European Society of Veterinary Oncology, the Genitourinary Pathology Society.
