POWERful Women (PfW) seeks to advance the professional growth and leadership development of women across the UK’s energy sector. The energy sector is undergoing a transformation, presenting a wide range of challenges and opportunities – from keeping the lights on to helping consumers reduce energy waste and building a more sustainable low carbon future. Because industry competitiveness relies on being able to attract and retain a diverse pool of talent capable of bringing fresh skills and perspectives, PfW believes a much stronger female influence is needed at the top table. And that more inclusive cultures will help a diversity of talent to contribute and thrive. By bringing together a mix of industry, academic and political leaders, we work to support and encourage energy companies to develop better diversity and inclusion approaches and to appoint more women to senior roles. This will help them build stronger businesses and adapt to changing markets. We also provide practical advice and support to women seeking to advance their careers, in order to build the pipeline of leaders for our sector.
