An engineer by profession but long since a business and major project leader (most recently as MD for the UK & Ireland at wind turbine OEM Nordex), and now an independent consultant and interim manager committed to the energy transition to renewables.
Currently MD at Bright Renewables (Community Owned Asset Management Ltd.), founded in late 2018, and managing over 60MW of solar assets – mostly community owned, ground mounted solar. It’s an unusually business model. The assets managed today made up of assets previously managed by Mongoose Energy, plus those acquired by Community Owned Renewable Energy, CORE (backed by Big Society Capital and Power To Change), which acquires assets and transfers them to community ownership. Bright Renewables itself is community owned via it’s Community Owned Member-Clients, and is non-profit.
Rich is also a non-exec director of Riding Sunbeams Ltd. which recently powered up the world’s first solar array direct to a railway – a 30kW demonstrator at Aldershot, as part of the Innovate UK First Of A Kind funded “Riding Sunbeams – First Light” project.
