The UK Power Networks’ independent DSO (Distribution System Operator) is a UK first that ensures sufficient electricity capacity across London, the East and South East, to support the rapid uptake of electric vehicles, heat pumps and renewables generation. With the demand on our electricity network rising and potentially doubling by 2050, our DSO launched in April 2023, will make sure there is fair market access to organisations ranging from small community energy groups to large private and public sector organisations to help us provide and save energy, readying our network as we transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
