FocalSun

FocalSun is an Anglo-Italian green hydrogen venture. FocalSun’s original goal was to develop a low cost concentrated solar unit to provide electricity and thermal energy for green hydrogen production in north Africa. FocalSun secured funding from Innovate UK and SNAM, a major gas producer in Italy, to develop pilots in Italy and Cranfield University in England. Both prototypes will be complete in a matter of weeks, and the biggest of which will be seven squared meters based in Cranfield. During this project, we developed two solutions to maximise hydrogen production that can be migrated from our concentrated solar solution to standard PV solar parks in the UK and Europe to enable industry to decarbonise.
