Ir. Ts. Mohd Iqbal bin Ridwan is currently serving as Head (Power Generation and Green Technologies) Training Unit in TNB Integrated Learning Solutions Sdn. Bhd (ILSAS). He is responsible in leading a pool of expert trainers in brown and green power generation technologies. He is also responsible developing, managing and implementing training programs and solutions on Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Energy Efficiency and Electric Vehicle for local and international markets in the learning and development space. He has 19 years of experience working in various departments and subsidiaries across TNB Group. Previously, he served as Lead (Innovation Catalyst), Corporate Ventures Department, Strategy and Ventures Division, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) where he assumed the role as Project Director for TNB-Petronas Joint Feasibility Study Project, with the objective to explore and develop business arrangement between both companies on green hydrogen economy. He also served as Chief Solutions Officer at TNBX Sdn. Bhd from August 2019 to March 2022 where he led the development of solutions related to building energy management and new business models for chiller plants. He spent majority of his career serving as Principal Researcher (System Automation) in TNB Research Sdn Bhd (11 years from 2008 to 2019). During this period, he led total of MYR 25 million worth of research projects and developed expert level knowledge and competency in the areas of Smart Grid, Substation Automation System, Digital Substation, Reliability Engineering and Reliability Centered Maintenance. As recognition to his expertise, he was appointed as technical consultant and trainer by various local and international entities, notably Mitsubishi Research Institute, Tokyo Electric Power Company, Provincial Electricity Authority (Thailand) and EVN-NPTS (Vietnam). He received his Bsc. Degree from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan in 2005 and MBA at University Tenaga Nasional in 2018. He is a registered Professional Engineer (Electrical) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia. He is also a Professional Technologist (Electrical and Electronics Technologies) registered with Malaysia Board of Technologist. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) registered with ASEAN Center for Energy and Registered Electrical Energy Manager with Energy Commission of Malaysia. He is certified in emerging technologies, where he obtained Certified Internet of Things Specialist (CIoTS), Certified Cyber Security Specialist (CCSS) and Certified Data Science Specialist (CDSP) from iTrain, Malaysia. He is also an Accredited Trainer with Malaysia Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC). He is currently the Malaysian National Expert Representative and P-Member to IEC Technical Committee (TC) 57 Working Group (WG) 10, Switzerland. He also serves as committee member in the following international and local technical committees:

1. IEC Technical Committee (TC) 57 National Mirror Committee-TC/E/16, Department of Standards, Malaysia
2. Industry Expert Panel for R&D Project Fund, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysia
3. North America IEC 61850 Digital Substation User Task Force

He received the Best Promising Researcher award by TNB Research Sdn Bhd in 2013 and Most Excellence Paper Award by TNB Grid Division in 2024. Throughout his career, he has authored and presented more than 40 technical papers international conferences and journals.
