Dr. Jasrul Jamani Bin Jamian is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and serves as the Director of Research & Development at two companies, Sustainable & Innovation Engineering Sdn Bhd and Prospek Lestari Sdn Bhd. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng. Hons), Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), and Ph.D. in Electrical (Power) Engineering from UTM in 2008, 2010, and 2013, respectively. Dr. Jasrul is distinguished by his ability to bridge the gap between advanced academic research and tangible industrial application. His work is deeply rooted in solving real-world energy challenges, leading numerous research and development projects as Principal Investigator. He provides high-level consultancy to Malaysia's foremost energy players, including Petronas and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), where his expertise in relay coordination, power system studies, energy management, and solar PV system design directly informs critical infrastructure decisions. A recognized leader in Malaysia's energy transition, Dr. Jasrul is at the forefront of knowledge transfer for emerging technologies. Since 2023, he has been the foremost expert for specialized training on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS): Principles and Design, commissioned by key national bodies such as the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), Tenaga Nasional Berhad, and Single Buyer Malaysia. This cements his pivotal role in upskilling the industry for a renewable energy future. Further solidifying his leadership, he chairs the NSC 05/TC 17 - Technical Committee on Electrical Energy Storage (EES) Systems under the Department of Standards Malaysia, and also serves as the President of the Malaysian Energy Storage Association (MESA) , guiding the nation's strategic and technical direction in energy storage. With a prolific academic record of over 100 publications in international journals and conference proceedings, his research in network reconfiguration, optimization techniques, and renewable energy integration continues to influence both scholarly thought and industry best practices. Dr. Jasrul Jamani stands as a key figure connecting UTM's innovation with the practical needs of the energy industry, driving sustainable engineering solutions forward in Malaysia and beyond.
