Sophie is an experienced sustainability professional dedicated to helping businesses achieve environmental, social, and economic advancements, contributing to a more sustainable world. Sophie has been the Head of Sustainability at Essential Energy for the past three years. In this role, she leads a team responsible for implementing the Sustainability Strategy, delivering sustainability and climate reporting, and managing the social impact program. Sophie led Essential Energy's inaugural Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) as part of an NSW Government pilot program in 2022. Under her guidance, the company has continued to improve its climate disclosures annually in preparation for the new mandatory standards. Before joining Essential Energy, Sophie held various roles in the energy, insurance, and financial sectors. With over a decade of experience in communications-related positions, she has specialised in sustainability for the past seven years. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney and a Certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.
