John Burke is the SERI Ambassador for Australia and New Zealand, reporting directly to SERI’s Chief of Global Certification Programs. In this capacity, he is responsible for fostering collaboration among a diverse community of stakeholders, promoting the value of R2 Certification, and coordinating comprehensive R2 training initiatives. With over 20 years of experience in quality and compliance, John has been instrumental in ensuring adherence to internationally recognized standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and R2v3, across a wide range of industries. His significant career achievements include leading the Greenbox Group's certification efforts across five sites in Australia and New Zealand, attaining R2v3 compliance, and significantly enhancing operational workflows in his role as Head of Operations. In his previous position as National Operations Manager at an eWaste recycling company, John managed the compliance for four facilities, oversaw the logistics and operations, and coordinated with unions under Enterprise Bargaining Agreements. John is a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 and an Internal Auditor for ISO 9001, holding Diplomas in Management and Business. His extensive expertise in risk management, operational optimization, eWaste management and team leadership has established him as a respected authority in the field of quality and compliance.
