Chris Samuelsson is a proud Yuwaalaraay woman and the Senior Advisor First Nations programs with Energy Queensland. Chris has over 20 years’ experience with Energy Queensland, in employment, engagement and education with a strong focus and passion for all First Nations Queenslanders, customers and our employees. Chris was the community and customer engagement lead during the roll out of card operated meters in Energy Queenslands remote and isolated First Nations communities, building relationships and providing energy education across 32 communities in Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait, and led the PowerSavvy listening tour last year in the Northern Peninsula Area and Thursday Island to listen and learn from customers on the impacts of cost of living challenges at this time. Chris in her current role is leading Energy Queensland on their Reconciliation Journey through collaboration with First Nations people internally and externally of EQL, with the aim of ensuring our actions are meaningful, genuine, and authentic and that First Nations Queenslanders are included in the Energy transition.
