Aaron Johnstone was appointed as the first Queensland Renewable Energy Jobs Advocate in late September 2024.  He has 30 years’ experience in public policy, industry engagement and advocacy in policy consulting, industry groups, state and federal agencies, and local government.  He holds undergraduate and post-graduate qualifications in public administration. Throughout his career, Aaron has developed a strong understanding of Queensland’s industry supply chains and regional economic opportunities, particularly within the manufacturing and resources sectors.  He has extensive experience engaging effectively with government, industry, and communities, especially in areas like skills, workforce development and economic development.  In the role of the Queensland Renewable Energy Jobs Advocate, Aaron will be working to ensure a long term positive legacy from renewable energy investment, and in ensuring a fair and prosperous energy transition, with benefits shared across regions, First Nations’ communities and businesses, and workers.
