Subroto Som is the EVP and Group head of Retail Banking Group at MASHREQ BANK. In this capacity he oversees all aspects of Mashreq’s Retail Banking, Business Banking, Payments, Private Banking and Wealth Management business across the Group.

Som is a senior consumer banking professional with over 30 years of multifunctional experiences across Asia, Africa & Middle East across three international Banks. He has managed global and regional business while being based in Dubai, Singapore, Mumbai, New Delhi and Seoul.

Som brings enormous drive, energy and performance focus to the work environment.  Is passionate  about   customers, brands and values. Has achieved significant impact and results in diverse cultural environments and has met strategic challenge with transformational solutions.

Som has a graduate degree in Engineering from IIT in Delhi & an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He had professional training from London Business School, Templeton College at Oxford, Harvard & INSEAD.
