Stelios Papadakis is Group Head of Business Technologies (CIO) of African Banking Corporation Holdings (ABCH), overseeing Technology Operations across six subsidiaries in Africa, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for BancABC Mozambique. Before that, he has held several senior positions across the banking industry in Mozambique, having been Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Banco Terra Mozambique (BTM), Head of Digital Banking and Head of IT also for Barclays Bank Mozambique.
Prior to his move onto banking industry, he worked for the Strategy and Policy Unit of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland and before that, he was Senior Telecommunication Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Maputo, Mozambique, as well as a part-time lecturer at various Universities in Mozambique.
Stelios is also the winner of the 2007 edition of the ITU Young Minds in Telecom competition, a worldwide competition run by the International Telecommunication Union. He Holds a MSc. in Public Policies for Science, Technology and Innovation from University of Sussex, United Kingdom, a bachelor degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He is an ISACA Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT, Certified in Cybersecurity Foundations and COBIT Foundation. Over the past years he has been developing expertise and presenting on themes related to Cybersecurity, IoT, AI, RPA, Blockchain, Big Data, IT Governance and Innovation.
