Michal was in the teaching profession for nearly 6 years, before being head hunted to join one of the leading incubators in South Africa. For two years he oversaw the screening and selection of all the entrepreneurs, across all the industries and sectors. He personally interviewed, worked with, mentored over 6000 entrepreneurs, and was a guest speaker for MTN Business and Destiny Magazine workshops hosted across 9 provinces. Being involved in the JP Morgan business accelerator programme from the onset, his role was to identify high growth entrepreneurs. Michal then started his own business, and after 3 entrepreneurial years, returned into the incubation arena. Realising his passion for entrepreneurship, Michal joined another incubator, working once again in small business incubation and growth. Working with clients such as Telesure, VISA, Honeywell, Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCS) Bidvest Bank etc. Michal again had the opportunity to travel throughout the country and do presentations in 14 different cities, on the challenges facing SMME’s. Before joining CiTi, Michal was part of a team that successfully built and developed B-BBEE strategies for multinational and JSE listed companies, as well as building a model for developing black industrialists. As Head of Incubation for CiTi, he worked on clusters of innovation around Fintech, EdTech, BioTech and others, some being the first of their kind on the African continent. Michal was appointed as a board member of the WHEAT Trust in 2017, an organisation dedicated to upskilling and uplifting disadvantaged women. In late 2018 he was appointed as the CEO of the Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub (MAFH), to help position the country as the global fintech gateway for Africa.
