Dominique Collett is a Senior Investment Executive at Rand Merchant Insurance Holdings and runs AlphaCode, a club for next generation financial Services entrepreneurs. AlphaCode provides mentorship, financial services expertise, corporate connections and growth capital with the purpose of optimizing and scaling disruptive financial services businesses.
Dominique has an entrepreneurial background and was one of the founding members of TYME, a South African based technology company that designs, builds and operates digital banking ecosystems. Tyme was launched out of the Deloitte Innovation Incubator and established as a stand-alone business in June 2012. Tyme was sold to Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in early 2015. The TYME solution enables super-low cost banking services that are accessible financially, physically and emotionally. The solution employs best practice design principles, architecture and technology. The first installation of this hosted solution is Mobile Money, which was launched by MTN in South Africa in November 2012 in partnership with the South African Bank of Athens, as well as Pick n Pay. Within 9 months of launch, Mobile Money had 1 million users on its platform and had processed over R1bn in transactions, making it one of the top 10 Mobile Money deployments globally.
Prior to this, Dominique’s career spanned both banking and management consulting. She worked for McKinsey & Company where she focused on financial services and public healthcare and was part of the corporate development and strategic investments team at Standard Bank Group, which entailed identifying, evaluating and executing strategic growth, acquisition and joint-venture opportunities.
Dominique has worked throughout Africa, Russia, and Turkey and was based in both Brussels and London for extended periods of her career.
Dominique has a Masters in Finance from London Business School and a Bachelor of Business Science from Rhodes University.
