Digital:ID - Day 2: Combating Digital ID Fraud
"Trusted Digital Identity: Ensuring the right foundation"
Approximately 70 percent of data breaches are related to ID theft. In fact, identity fraud occurs every 2 seconds; and 8 out of 10 fraudulent identities are already created online! We all agree that verifying identities in the physical world has been a relatively straightforward task, but it becomes more challenging in the digital world. It is a problem that needs to be remedied  urgently.
Solving this issue by providing citizens with a trusted digital identity has the potential to bring huge economic value to public services, individuals and businesses. Government bodies and national printers alike are in the best position to serve and support the digital transformation of their country, fight ID fraud and unlock an array of new opportunities for themselves and their citizens!

This session explores how the next generation digital identities can solve ID theft,  the components needed to ensure citizens are provided with a Digital Identity they can trust, how to maximize the financial benefits for the economy, and other benefits of trusted digital identities including the quality of government-to-citizen interaction, time savings, and more.
