The European Patent Office will bring you a half-day workshop on the topic of: “Claim drafting - making your PCT claims fit for a fast grant at the EPO”

The following topics will be discussed in the workshop:

  1. Introducing the European patent granting procedure
    • Advantages of the PCT direct procedure
    • The EPO’s Early Certainty procedure
       
  2. General part on claim drafting
  3. Pitfalls for applicants:
    • Priority transfer
    • The EPO’s added subject matter approach (e.g. claim dependencies, Singling out, Reference documents, Divisionals)

  4. Claim drafting for medical use claims under the EPC2000.
