Mark Tierney, General Manager – Commercial Strategy & Revenue Optimisation, G'day Group

Mark is an esteemed commercial leader with 19 years’ experience working with leading brands in the hospitality industry. He is currently General Manager of Commercial Strategy & Revenue Optimisation at G’day Group, Australia’s leading regional accommodation provider with more than 300 properties across the country and home to leading tourism brands including Discovery Parks and Resorts, El Questro, G’day Parks and WikiCamps.

Responsible for shaping G’day Group’s commercial strategy across its network of more than 85 owned and operated holiday parks and resorts, Mark manages an experienced team focusing on sales, distribution and revenue, and spearheads process enhancements throughout the company.

Previously, as Chief Revenue & Distribution Officer for Ascott Australia, Mark oversaw a broad portfolio of 130 properties with more than 11,000 apartments. His leadership of a 15-person team significantly contributed to the prominence of the Ascott and Quest brands in the Pacific.

Mark has shown unwavering dedication to excellence and strategic development throughout his time in the hospitality industry. Before his tenure at Ascott Australia, he sharpened his abilities with leading companies like IHG and AccorHotels. In 2018, he took on a key position at Quest Apartment Hotels, which is now owned by The Ascott Limited.

A highly strategic leader, Mark’s expertise spans several areas, including revenue management, strategic planning, and stakeholder relations. He is experienced in change management, having restructured the revenue and distribution department, established specialised teams, and driven strategic revenue measures within Quest's network. Additionally, Mark has been instrumental in overseeing important vendor partnerships, aiding integration with The Ascott Limited, and designing the distribution strategy for new projects.

His objective is well-defined: to steer the commercial approach for the brands he manages, creating a strong culture oriented towards revenue among all partners, and coordinating initiatives to increase revenue for both franchise and managed brands. His steadfast dedication to high standards guarantees that these brands will continue to prosper and expand in the highly competitive hospitality industry.
