Parminder Kohli, Global Head Of Marketing And Operations, Royal Dutch Shell

Parminder has 25 years of General Managerial experience in Strategy, Business Development, Marketing, Sales & Operations across 7 Industry Verticals, 3 continents and 4 organizations. The last 18 years of which are with Shell. He is currently heading Business Development, Marketing & Operations globally for a $ 24 billion revenue business with Shell serving Fuels and Mobility Services to B2B customers. In this role he is accountable for Digital transformation of the business, new market entries in China, Indonesia, India and Mexico in addition to managing world’s largest fuel card transaction processing platform.

Prior to this role, Parminder was CEO of Shell and Vivo Lubricants, a pan African JV between Shell, Vitol the world’s largest crude trader and Helios an Africa-based private equity fund. He joined the JV from its inception in 2011 and drove strong financial and operational performance delivering a 6-fold improvement in EBITDA. During this period, he gained valuable experience in managing boardroom relationships and chairing various subsidiary boards with complex shareholder relationships. He has a track record in turning around underperforming businesses by building strong cohesive teams, attracting diverse talents and a strong culture.

He is passionate about diversity in workplace, his own team comprises 63% women, he is also on the advisory board of CMI (Chartered Management Institute) lead study on BAME (Black and Asian Ethnic minority) diversity in FTSE 100 companies, a mentor with BITC initiative for BAME talent. He enjoys coaching and mentoring young entrepreneurs and is also a Non-Executive Director for Success For All Educational Trust which runs 3 secondary schools in London Borough of Havering. Parminder completed his Advanced Management Programme for Harvard Business School, MBA from IMD Switzerland and a degree in Civil Engineering from India. He speaks English, French, Hindi and Punjabi.

A physical and mental fitness enthusiast he enjoys distance running, yoga and meditation.

He is also a keen traveller having been to more than 80 countries.
