Ernest Artiaga started his research career on Operating Systems in the Department of Computer Architecture at UPC in Barcelona. Then, he moved to the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN), where he worked on IT Security, focusing on both large scale intrusion detection and single sign-on authentication. Back to Barcelona, he contributed to set up the first MareNostrum supercomputer at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), and obtained his Ph.D. on Distributed File Systems.
After switching to industry, he gained experience in both start-ups and large companies, fulfilling different roles in the area of distributed architectures. He is currently the Head of Software Engineering at Albora Technologies, a company devoted to develop the next-generation GNSS.
