David-Emanuel Hauptmann is responsible for the Business Product Management at Autonomous Intelligent Driving GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of AUDI AG and center of excellence for self-driving technology within the VW group. In his position he sets the focus on defining viable business models, defining the go-to-market strategy and growing the product portfolio.
He has many years of experience in the field of IT and telecommunications. Before joining AID in 2018, David-Emanuel Hauptmann has served in several product and program management related roles at Lexmark, Deutsche Telekom AG and KPN B.V. in Germany and The Netherlands, successfully implementing various international projects in the field of software and new digital services.
At KPN, David was heading the Smart City team withing KPN’s corporate incubator since 2016, leading several pilot projects for KPN to bring new, innovative propositions in the field of IoT, data-driven services and Smart Cities to the market (e.g. the Smart Cities lighthouse projects Ruggedised and Iris within the EU Horizon2020 program). David couldn’t be more excited about his current role at AID: “Digitization, electrification and autonomous vehicles are on the verge of disrupting mobility as we currently know it. I believe that they are going to change the world for the better, and this is what we are working on at AID every day. I’m glad to be a part of it.”
David holds a degree in economics from Universität Hohenheim and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, a Top-10 European business school.
