Mark Gerban is the Head of Product at Pairpoint, a joint venture between Vodafone and Sumitomo. In this role, Mark plays a crucial part in shaping the company's product strategy, driving the development of innovative digital solutions that leverage vehicle SIM cards to enhance tolling, fueling, fleet management, payments, and the overall automotive experience. With nearly 20 years of expertise in automotive innovation, fintech, and digital transformation, Mark is a key contributor to the future of mobility.
 
At Mercedes-Benz Research & Development in Sindelfingen (Stuttgart), the company’s global R&D headquarters, Mark was instrumental in launching digital solutions, including payments, that resulted in nearly 50 patent filings. His contributions underscore his influence in conceptualizing and implementing groundbreaking products in the automotive sector. At Apple, Mark led the launch of the first alternative payment methods for the App Store in Europe and created new digital product propositions, further showcasing his ability to drive innovation in the payments landscape.
 
Before his current role, Mark served as Chief Commercial Officer at a fintech startup, where he leveraged his extensive experience to accelerate business growth. His earlier career includes managing payment and risk operations for major online gaming and payment companies.
 
Recognized for his strategic vision and innovative contributions, Mark remains a driving force in the digital transformation of the automotive industry.
Originally from Philadelphia, Mark now resides in Hamburg, Germany. He also brings a unique perspective as a former world-class athlete, having placed 16th at the World Rowing Championships.
