Joanne Rotondi is a partner in our Hogan Lovells Washington, D.C. office and heads the firm’s global Transport and Logistics industry sector. She focuses her practice on regulatory compliance, litigation, and environmental permitting, particularly in the automotive and transport and logistics sectors.
With a deep understanding of the technical issues involved, she advises large automotive manufacturers and suppliers on emissions, fuel economy, and greenhouse gas (GHG) issues at state and federal levels, in-use compliance and reporting requirements, development and implementation of autonomous and electric vehicle technology, and related policy and rulemaking efforts. She applies vast knowledge of every aspect of Clean Air Act mobile source regulation to a broad range of clients including light duty vehicle and heavy duty engine manufacturers, as well as to emerging mobility, autonomous and electric vehicle technologies.
Her work includes providing ongoing assistance on a range of regulatory automotive compliance topics, interfacing with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Air Resources Board (CARB), Department of Transportation (DOT) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and obtaining critical approvals, such as vehicle and engine certifications and on-board diagnostic (OBD) approvals, from both EPA and CARB for new motor vehicles and engines.
Joanne also serves on the EPA's Mobile Source Technical Review Subcommittee (MSTRS) of the Clean Air Act Advisory Committee (CAAAC).
