Erik Simpson is the founder of SeatsX, LLC in Houston, Texas. SeatsX LLC, is a multi-modal transportation technology company who has invented the “Stock Market of Rides” and “market based navigation”. The technology focuses on not only allowing commuters to buy or sell rides, but also to trade commutes like stocks or commodities. Mr. Simpson has 30 years of management experience and 17 years of running Simpson Holdings, Inc. (The parent of SeatsX and SimpsX Technologies) as an independent company focused on technology and investments. Mr. Simpson has over 75 patents and patents pending in online markets, technology, navigation, bioinformatics, bioinformatic search and gaming software. Simpson Holdings, Inc. has managed substantial partnerships such as Vantage Trading energy hedge fund from 2005 running over $100 MM in assets invested by Ospraie Management of New York. Prior to Simpson Holdings, Inc, Mr. Simpson was Vice President of trading at JM Huber in Edison, New Jersey overseeing the global commodity risk of the Company. Prior to JM Huber, Mr. Simpson was Director of Power Trading at Enron Corporation. Mr. Simpson holds a bachelors degree in Mathematics and Economics from Ithaca College, an MBA from Cornell University and attended the Ph.D. program in Mathematics and Economics from Cornell University.
