Don Burnette is the Co-Founder & CEO of Kodiak Robotics.
Don has worked in the autonomous vehicle space for the last ten years, making him a seasoned expert in the field.
He began his career at Google as a software engineer for their self-driving car project, the predecessor to Waymo. After over five years at Google, he left to found his own autonomous trucking company, Otto. One year into operating, Uber acquired Otto and Don joined the company as a software technical lead.
At Uber, they focused on autonomous passenger vehicles, rather than autonomous trucks. Eventually, Don decided to follow his passion and founded Kodiak Robotics, the autonomous trucking startup. Don believes self-driving trucks will be the first autonomous vehicles to support a viable business model.
Don holds bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, as well as a master’s degree in Physics from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
