Based on global news coverage, as well as inbound questions we have received from some of our exhibitors and attendees, we wanted to provide an update on all precautions that MOVE America is taking in regards to the novel coronavirus, named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization.
MOVE America is closely monitoring the situation, and following all current advice, the event will now take place on September 1-2 at the Palmer Events Center in Austin.
The health and safety of our audience is a top priority.
Here is what we will do onsite to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
No handshake/hug/kiss policy: we respectfully will ask all participants to refrain from shaking hands, hugging or kissing as a greeting.
Increased cleaning and disinfection across all high-volume touchpoints.
100 special hand sanitizer stations have been positioned throughout the convention center – and hand sanitizer will be available at registration and other key event locations.
We will be spacing out the seating in the conference rooms to ensure participants have maximum personal space.
Awareness and training to all event staff on standard personal preventative measures.
MOVE America will continue to monitor the situation, and take appropriate measures based on developments, and advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and WHO. We will also be asking all attendees who have any cold or flu-like symptoms before the event, not to attend MOVE America.
The CDC recommends that everyone follow everyday prevention practices:
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
