Ms. Vicky Janssens is General Manager for Southeast Asia at the Swiss Foundation for Climate Protection and Carbon Offset (KliK Foundation) since September 2022 and based in Bangkok. Before assuming this new function, she worked for about 8 years at the Swiss Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She first worked for Presence Switzerland, the Swiss entity for public diplomacy and events organizations, where she had different mandates working at the Swiss pavilion in World Exhibitions in Shanghai (2010), Yeosu in South Korea (2012) and Milan in Italy (2015). Between 2016 and 2019, she was Deputy Regional Coordinator for Southeast Asia at the Headquarters in Bern. She then moved to Bangkok to become the Deputy Head of Political and Economic Section at the Swiss Embassy until August 2022. Among many other topics, she oversaw the environment portfolio for the Swiss Embassy, including the negotiations for a Bilateral agreement on climate protection, recently signed by Thailand and Switzerland (in June 2022).
She graduated from the International Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, of a M.A. in Asian Studies in 2013.
