The mining industry in the Arab world is on the precipice of unprecedented development with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and National Transformation Plan (NTP) re-injecting life back into regional mining.
The NTP targets have intensified exploration and development of mineral resources in Saudi Arbaia. The target by 2020 is for the mining sector to contribute SAR 97 billion to GDP, up from the current SAR 80 billion, and to create 90,000 jobs.
By 2030 the objective is for this figure to reach SAR 260 billion ($69.3 billion).
As the largest mining company in Saudi Arabia, Ma’aden has led the development. With a revised strategy, 2018 has been a record year for the operator in terms of production and profits.
The objective of “Saudi Welcome Day” is to act as a platform to support Ma’aden and Vision 2030, to ensure it becomes a reality and not just an ambitious plan. This is a full day and agenda designed to support the development of new projects, international expansion, optimisation of operations, leadership in sustainability, and growth of exploration projects.
