Natalie Jones, Director, Digital Identity, Government Digital Service, UK Cabinet Office

Natalie Jones is the Director for the flagship GOV.UK One Login Programme. This pioneering programme is committed to developing a digital system for people to prove their identity and access all central government services, regardless of their personal circumstances. She has overall responsibility to deliver this programme for the Government and brings a breadth of critical national infrastructure, engineering and digital identity knowledge to her role.  The development of the GOV.UK One Login Programme has seen much success and extraordinary progress over the past year. To date One Login has verified nearly half a million identities. In the coming year the ambitions for the programme are even greater and by the end of 2023 the aim is for the system to support over 30 million people who need to log in and prove their identity.  Natalie previously worked at the Home Office, delivering the EU Settlement Scheme where she was the lead for the end to end digital solution which has now been used by over six million EU citizens to give them formal rights to stay in the UK.  Embedding more sustainable IT practices in Government is an area Natalie is passionate about and is currently developing a green IT initiative with the initial aim of making the GOV.UK One Login programme an exemplar of sustainable IT Practices. Future ambitions are to take the initiative more widely working with other Government Departments and interested organisations.
