Dr. Yevgeniy B. Sirotin is the Technical Director of SAIC’s Identity and Data Sciences Laboratory supporting the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology (DHS S&T) as the Principal Investigator at the Maryland Test Facility. Dr. Sirotin was the lead Human Factors Scientist supporting DHS S&T’s Air Entry-Exit Reengineering (AEER) program where he designed large scale scenario evaluations of biometric technologies for use in the travel environment. Dr. Sirotin directed the technical execution of DHS S&T Biometric Technology Rally, the largest multi-year scenario test of biometric technology in high-throughput applications. Dr. Sirotin is currently directing the technical execution of the Remote Identity Validation Technology Demonstration (RIVTD). He started his career as a Neuroscientist and holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Behavior from Columbia University where he performed behavioral experiments and spectral imaging of brain activity patterns. Dr. Sirotin maintains diverse research interests in neuroscience, computer science, and human-computer interaction with numerous publications spanning these disciplines. He now focuses on applied research measuring demographic differentials in biometric and identity systems as well as teaming human operators with biometric algorithms.
