Deputy Director Shawn Alsop after working for the Federal Highway Administration and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation joined the New York City Police Department in January 2008 and began his career in the Office of Management Analysis and Planning. He later was transferred to the Office of the Chief of Transportation and was promoted to Deputy Director of Transportation Policy and Planning in 2021. As Deputy Director, he provides engineering and technical expertise to NYPD Chief of Transportation. Deputy Director Alsop holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Civil Engineering from Penn State University. He is also a registered Professional Engineer.  back to speakers
