Beth has two degrees in European Business Administration, is a member of the IIMR (Institute of Investment Management and Research) and of the Institute of Linguists. She spent 20 years in the City working in European equities, first as a fund manager, then on institutional equity sales, then on corporate advisory work. Beth retired full time from the City in 2005, and has since focussed her energies on developing the Cornish property that she and husband bought in 1999, which they built into a multi award-winning business - a national finalist in Accessible Tourism in the VE awards in 2016; winner of the South West Gold Award for dog-friendly business of the year 2017; and South West Silver Award for Accessible Tourism in 2017 (having won Gold in 2015). She has been on the Board of Premier Cottages since 2010 as Marketing Director, and also assumed the Chairmanship of the Board in 2017. Her two big driving passions in self-catering are the accessible market, and retaining independence from paying commission. Premier Cottages is a Book Direct with the Owner model, which enables members to retain full independence of their own business model and direct access to guests, while sharing a marketing umbrella.
