Xiangyu (Sian) Sheng, Technical Lead, Temple

Dr Xiangyu Sheng is a leading expert in Environmental Science and Climate Change with 25 years’ experience. She has wide range of expertise in sustainability, climate change, whole life cycle carbon assessment, air quality modelling and management, emission inventory, odour, construction dust, environmental impact assessment for large infrastructure schemes including aviation, rail, highway, energy, industrial schemes and urban development.

She has been a technical lead for numerous high profile projects e.g. HS2, TfL, London 2012 Olympic Legacy, Brent Cross, Crossrail, 2008 Beijing Olympic, EU-China LIEP, EU EMCP and EU EGP. While bringing vision and leadership to the business, she has demonstrated in depth technical capability throughout her career.
  As a system thinker, Dr Sheng is a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society (FRMets), a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Chartered Physicist (CPhys), a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv). Dr Sheng has a BSc in Applied Physics and BEng in Environmental Engineering; MSc in Environmental Engineering and MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development, as well as a PhD in Environmental Science. 

She was an expert member of the Environment and Water Sector Advisory Group (EWSAG), UKTI (2008-2012) and a former committee member of UK-China Green Building and Eco-City Working Group (2009-2012). She has acted as an Expert Witness and provided proof of evidence at planning hearings. She has more than 40 journal and conference publications. She co-authored and published a book titled ‘Air Dispersion Modelling in Regulatory Applications’ in 2005.
