Craig, with 36 years of highways sector knowledge, serves as the Technical Director for Foster Contracting Limited (FCL), a specialist maintenance contractor operating in both the highway and airport sectors. Craig has a rare approach within a contracting business, to upskill highway teams through his educational engagement. His ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions will enhance your knowledge of pavement failures, and how to make those pavements much more resilient. During his most recent 18 years in the private sector, Craig has excelled as a technical expert, focusing on best value, resilient pavements, and resource optimisation, during the design, tender and construction phases, and the entire life cycle. This period included being an international pavement specialist for Tensar, the inventors of geogrids. His strategic influence here extended to representing the highways industry through national committees and focused working groups, contributing to the advancement of specifications, standards and documents. In his previous 18 years with the Lincolnshire County Council’s highways department, he managed bypasses, maintained roads and bridges, and mentored their ICE indentured trainees.
