Andrew Cox, SHEQ Director, F.M. Conway

Andrew’s honours degree in Occupational Health and Safety is reinforced by 20 years’ experience in the construction sector. He has led the transformation of FM Conway’s health and safety strategy and performance since 2012, working across the business to embed a positive health and safety culture.

Under his leadership, FM Conway’s commitment to improving road safety and protecting vulnerable road users has been recognised with multiple national and European awards including the RoSPA Gold Medal. He was instrumental in establishing FM Conway’s partnership with ‘Mates in Mind’ to improve mental health outcomes and recently introduced our ‘Big Ten in 10’ strategy; a cultural shift designed to eliminate risks with the potential to cause life changing harm.

Andrew is committed to collaboration; sharing best practice and lessons learned across the wider industry and playing an active role within the Mineral Products Association, Civil Engineering Contractors Association and National Highways Regional Forums. He continues to lead FM Conway’s response to the Coronavirus public health emergency, supporting our clients to maintain service continuity in full compliance with government guidance.
